Security forces entered Qazvin University: one more student arrested on campus

Farzam Moyini, an activist in the International University of Imam Khomeini in Qazvin, was arrested by security forces last Wednesday while on campus.

Herana News - Student Rights: Amir Kabir newsletter says that a while ago and after three of the students of the international university in Qazvin were summoned to the news staff of Qazvin Intelligence and were then arrested, Farzam Moyini has also been summoned to the Intelligence Department. But one of his relatives died and he had to leave Qazvin to be present in the funeral and that's why he had not presented himself on time. It was then that the security officials of the province repeatedly called to threaten him and asked him to come to the Intelligence Ministry. Contacts and threats against this student continued for some time and then he contacted university officials including Dr. Ale Booyeh, University Supervisor, explained his situation and asked the university officials to look into the matter.

This student activist, based on his conversations with university officials, went back to the university earlier this week and met in person with the supervisor once more, letting them know about his mourning situation. University officials told him he should not do anything.

But contradictory to all conversations when he went to university last Wednesday around 8 to meet Dr. Ale Booyeh, University Supervisor, he was arrested by security forces when leaving the university premises.

Reports show that he has been arrested inside the campus which is against all the student regulations and rights.

Farzad Moyini's arrest was carried out by collaboration with the Qazvin University administration. Before and in process of arresting three other students from that university, the role that campus security, especially Hossein Sardaghi (head of campus security) and Abdolali Ale Boye (University supervisor) played in collaboration with security bodies was evident, but this time it was exactly after Moyini met Ale Booye that he was arrested while on campus.

This student activist had repeatedly talked with friends and university officials about going to the intelligence department himself before being arrested.

It should be noted that recurring follow ups of other university activists about the department that arrested Farzad and where he is being kept has not been answered. Dr. Ale Booye doesn't accept any responsibility, saying, "There is nothing that I can do."
