Arrest of Two Shiraz University Students- Number of Arrested from Shiraz University Increased to 30

HRNA press agency - Prisoners rights: According to Amir Kabir newsletter, Saeed Aganji was an active student from Karroubi's electoral college who was arrested during elections by the intelligence service.

Razieh Jafari was a sociology student of Shiraz university who was suspended from studies for one term last year.

With the arrest of these two, eight other students were arrested in the last 24 hours from Shiraz university.

Yesterday six students from different universities in Shiraz were arrested including Seyed Mohamad Mohsen Mousavi, Sobhan Heidari, Najma Ranjbar, Seyed Mohamad Hosseini, Saeed Lotfi, Sobhan Heidari, Najma Ranjbar, Seyed Mohamad Hoseini, Saeed Lotfi and Masood Mahdavi.

It is to be reminded that many of the students from Shiraz university arrested on 13 Aban are still in detention. With the recent arrests, the total number of students in detention has raised to 30.

There is no information regarding Kazem Rezai, a student activist of Shiraz univeristy. Students who went to the court and information ministry to gain infromation on his case were threatened. Yahya Tavoosi another Shiraz university student was arrested after inquiring about Kazem Rezai. He was also threatened by the deputy prosecutor.

Ali Saleh Pour, Neda Eskandari, Khadije Ghahramniam Kheibar Safarpour, Ali Asgari, Nazari, Shirvani, Bagheri, Saeed Rezayi, Banayi, Jalali, Zohoorian, Poor Fathi, Taheri etc are among those who were arrested on 13 Aban and are being held in a dangerous section of Adel Abad prison where detainees infected with AIDS and Hepatitis are kept.

The disciplinary board has suspended many students who participated in 13 Aban protests.

There are no accurate statistics regarding disciplinary measures taken due to large numbers of students suspended.
